Been using zed.dev for 2 days and I haven't yet switched back to neovim. Some kind of record, let's see if i last 2 weeks.

I like cursor too much to want to try anything else right now

Really like the cursor ideas but I don’t love the platform (VSCode) and the team is cool but not yet experienced building editors. This being said I need to spend more time w it

I care less about the team and more about the end result. And ya. Being used to vs code and having liked it it was easy to switch over. Hope they do a cursor zed one day. I’m guessing it’s high on the feature list for them

They have most of the features ? Ghost autocomplete, sidebar chat, inline prompting

haven’t tried the zed version, but there is a little extra “magic” with the way cursor indexes your codebase in my experience

I think so also. They’ve spent a ton of time chunking and indexing the code specifically for the AI use case

Cool. I’ll give zed a try. Wasn’t aware to what extent the ai had been integrated. But yes, cursor is very good at it. Copilot would do ghost autocomplete but cursor took that to the next level with the quality of results which is why people like it so much.
