Everytime I get excited about NFTs (as they exist currently) I come back to the blackpill that the only thing that is onchain is the metadata and most of the actual NFT content is just hosted on S3 buckets Can someone un-blackpill me? I still think the underlying tech is cool fwiw

I think the crux of the issue is the difference in public perception of IPFS and the ethereum chain. IPFS is a sick piece of technology that is strongly censorship resistant and has serious adoption (therefore durability). I recommend going and learning about it, it's really cool tech, and meets the reqs you have.

Assuming that's true, why don't you see people discussing IPFS like they do blockchain tech? Seems like a sick technology that supercharges a lot of blockchain apps
