If you look at the fortune 500, or even fortune 100, the amount of insurance companies in there is astonishing. This confirms my suspicion that insurance is by and large operated in an abusive way. I think web3 could help solve some of this, but it's really not sexy. I hope some founders tackle the problem.

A shared pool where you can see where your money goes and who takes it out (increased transparency). ZKProofs for accountability tracking and decision justification. Right now, my guess is that the corporations are corrupt and take a lot off the top, you can make this transparent with blockchains

Some have experimented in healthcare P2P insurance. Challenge so far has been reaching scale needed to sufficiently diversify risk.
