My professor friend said it its because its objective falsification of credentials and very provable unlike other things where people might have a problem with behavior 

For me I am now conceding and realize I must capitulate. No more whining from me this is the end. There is nothing I can do, this is my ruler whether I like it or not and at this point I feel like I have to be going along to get along.

As word circulated online, popular streamer Asmongold reviewed the video and agreed there was no way Musk played the character himself. Asmongold challenged Elon to prove he leveled himself and he would stream exclusively on X for a year.

When Elon caught wind of the challenge, instead of addressing the controversy, he unfollowed Asmongold, removed his verified and gaming tags on X, and leaked some of their DMs. Elon’s childish response is already stirring huge backlash among gamers.

Imo It's because the whole paying to level up just to brag is bizarre, there were zero stakes and even just engaging with the game organically would be enough to satisfy the gamers in a propaganda sense
