I think the reason itβs so hard to explain is that itβs so ambitious. They basically invented a new low-level assembly-like language, high-level functional language, and a new pattern for operating systems. The general idea (though Iβll miss a lot here) is that you run an β¦

Think of it as an operating system where all the computation is done on your computer instead of in the cloud. Imagine Facebook, for example, but where there are no Facebook servers and everything is computed and stored on the userβs machine, with communications happen in P2P.
