Network States

People who are interested in living in a long-term network state node (so, permanent location, not popup), what are some properties that you would like such a node to have?

I think of James Madison’s Federalist 51.   I’m paraphrasing: if men were angels we wouldn’t need governments.  If men were angels we wouldn’t need checks and balances on government.  And ambition will counter ambition.  
It doesn’t matter what you call it or what the amenities are or how many people live there.  Men are not angels.   We need structure and governance that is checked and we need to make sure the ambitions of the people who will want to be in charge are balanced against others.   Oh wait.  We already have that system.   It’s called the American Constitution.   The greatest acknowledgment of human nature ever done.
