Entitlement in both crypto and open source communities is so disheartening. People who don’t contribute anything productive feel entitled to airdrops or support/feature requests and become upset or aggressive. Sigh. Be better 😔

uniswap's retroactive airdrop was the worst thing to ever happen to this space. With open source I think developers shouldn't shy away from charging for additional features. Developer's unfortunately barely capture any of the value that they deliver to the world.

Yeah, a friend told me he made six figures a few years back from airdrops alone and… that sounded so bizarre to me. I understand it’s essentially an engagement tactic to drive up usage stats and incentivize usage, and I’m not entirely against the idea of airdrops, but just the intrinsic entitlement is weird.

FWIW I’m a huge fan of e.g. RPGF or airdropping contributors from an open source codebase. It’s the “I bridged tokens and minted random stuff and made transactions back and forth, pls reward me” that I think is stupid.
