voted AGAINST a proposal to fund an animal welfare group in China with ~$400,000 USDC to create more shelters, namely because this is the second round of funding for the project and i believe we as a community should talk about what meaningful proliferation looks like

One thing I’ve always wondered is how nouns measures impact? I saw somewhere that 30k eth has been distributed, has there been a dao retrospective on what has been high impact?

i personally believe that impact is something that should be more clearly defined, with the caution that much of proliferation (or marketing of any time) is vaguely immeasurable i'm (again, personally) less concerned with 'did this project lead to someone bidding on a noun' (very unlikely) and more concerned with 'did this project lead someone to become a part of nouns' which feels like it's more easily showcased from project creators

Yeah I like your framework, but is the answer to my question that nouns doesn’t measure impact? Regardless of what impact means One reason I ask is I’ve been thinking about applying for funding for a proxy project and am trying to figure out what even to aim for - aiming for community growth is useful

well Nouns is fully decentralized, so who would be measuring the impact? there are several people that follow up with props, and 'propdates' are encouraged for project creators to follow along, but it's the responsibility of the project to showcase their work best bet in my opinion is to look at recent successful props as a litmus test for what the DAO is looking for ☻
