Decentralized social media should be built differently:

🛑 Not around vanity metrics

✅ Organize IRL meetups

I like your view but it seems crypto is even more about attention than other markets & socmedia and "unfortunately" every business/projects needs to get enough views,  users, stakeholders, investors to survive.

So, ultimately I hope engagement rates and vanity metrics won't be overemphasized and "good"/value-add content, builders get their fair share of attention but nature & trend of people is trending in the other direction and it's hard to play a different game.

Prob requires many idealist builders who win AND go against the trend.

“good” is entirely subjective though and people farm engagement using the vibe of “learning and growing” just as much as anything else 

really easy to get cynical about it all, important to just try our best to navigate these waters with truth and honesty imo
