It is worrisome. Any social media needs the next gen to like it if it wants sustainability. I think it mainly has something to do with money being an issue for people <25 years of age.

Younger people have lesser experience and less value to add to a social media platform which is as value driven as this. The tipping mechanism was great for bringing people who don't necessarily have a lot of skills in this realm and then they could start monetising whatever their skills were.

it's that they have free options that are more fun to be on (farcaster is not entertainment driven and seems very mid-tier for relationship building from what I've seen in the past week). why would they choose a less interesting, more expensive channel? price isn't the issue but is definitely an extra barrier
