There's currently no penalty for low quality engagement. But you are giving some of your trustworthiness to the bot, by doing that, which doesn't help the community.

This is what I've been wondering.. It's tough because while I like to engage back when real users reach out, it can be actually quite time consuming to determine live-ness. 

I really believe the network simply needs time to spread organically, but that doesn't mean I don't want to help it do so efficiently.

i'm thinking about running an experiment: $vouch

an offchain 'token' that is gifted to vouch for the humanity (+ quality) of other accounts. you can only give other accounts 1 $vouch each, & can revoke your $vouch at any time.

only $vouch recipients get a $vouch allowance.

all $vouch data will be public.

Definitely worth investigating! Similar base notion to a suggestion of commendation tokens I made on one of @dwr.eth's casts, I like it!

Agreed, and what’s tough for me is so many people that don’t speak good English might come off as bots so now they are being punished for looking like a bot
