Interesting to think about NFT norms created over time as a result of creators optimizing for opensea display. Square shape, image/animation standard, etc

always felt weird optimizing things to fit the UI of what was available, knowing that those things will keep changing over the years.

stopped caring after the first year of minting(i didn’t mint a lot back then) and did what was best for the artwork in terms of aspect ratios. os added diff view formats eventually..

a lot of this behavior comes from artists & content creators adapting to the 4:5 IG format. most photographers now share their work in 4:5 and it’s my least favorite aspect ratio to showcase photos in. 

photogs started shooting around that ar and lots of photos started looking the same wrt how they’re composed :/
