it weird that i feel most valued as a friend not when i reach out for help and receive it, but when a friend reaches out when they’re going through something and they allow me the privilege of being someone who they share their sorrow with.

it doesn’t happen a lot tho. somewhere along the last few years i’ve selfishly become the friend who has needed/demanded her friends’ support more, than they’ve hers.

a friend reached out recently bc he wanted my help with something he’d been struggling with and it was the first time in a really long time that he did. it’s been on my mind ever since bc of how it made me feel. 

feeling the feeling that someone needs me is rare as fuck

It really is so rare ❤️ and being able to be there to help is also a great privilege
