Some wild speculations about the future potential of gene therapy: → Remove scarcity genes, e.g., no urge to eat junk food → Require little to no sleep → Require little to no exercise to stay fit, e.g., via myostatin inhibition → Enhance the immune system → Flush out compounds on demand, e.g., caffeine

How will they determine these things without testing in humans, I feel like it’s a slippery slope, gene therapy is still in its relative infancy and we don’t have a full grasp of a lot of biochem processes we undergo, also one horror story would shut it down, like with psychedelics in the 60s

Excited to see how follistatin goes. BJ and others trying it already. Seems like the closest one that could be big - 30% lifespan extension in mice.

I work in gene therapy, and these are not really focuses of the industry presently. Rather than focusing on improvement from the norm, we are instead working on fixing genetic-based deviations from the norm; i.e., fixing genetic-based blindness, etc
