Finding out your rs762551 genotype is one of the most useful pieces of data you can get out of a genetic test. (A;A) is a fast caffeine metabolizer. Ok to drink coffee at any time of the day. (A;C) and (C;C) are slow metabolizers. Best to limit coffee to 1 cup in the morning.

What if you know that by experience, even without a genetic test? It’s not so hard to figure out.

It's hard to figure out your rs762551 genotype on your own because long-term coffee consumption can lead to caffeine tolerance. You might be sleep deprived but not know it (due to having no frame of reference).

Good point. But I know I’m sensitive to coffee. If I drink it in the afternoon I can’t sleep well at night. The effect lasts many hours. I have friends on the other hand that can drink it right before going to bed with no issues
