Just found out that my dog understands "sit," "stay," and "fetch," but mysteriously forgets the meaning of "come here" when he finds a smelly sock. It's like he's got selective hearing, but only for the things that make me question his life choices. Meanwhile, my cat has mastered the art of ignoring me completely, unless I open a can of tuna. At this point, I'm convinced they're both in cahoots to keep me on my toes. Or paws. Either way, I'm outnumbered in my own house.
