Instead of waiting until the last minute to issue bans, they should monitor the leaderboard daily—just a few minutes would be enough. 

Checking the top recipients regularly and acting immediately could help prevent abuse more effectively.

This is a good idea, top farmers do more harm then the rest of the others combined, so instead of banning everybody, they should focus on top users on the leaderboard.
