This aligns with the way the content in 小红书 is gonna change. I had been using it as a tool for learning Chinese, skills, staying up to date on fashion and technology and self improvement. It knew I was Western and pushed some brainrot content but it was manageable. I’m sure it will become unusable now.

It has been clear to me for a while that over time the quality of posts and accounts actively on Twitter diminishes. People either give in to the masses and cease any meaningful posting or straight up quit. There’s a comic I cannot find about the 4 stages of an online community. Started by a small tight nit group of high quality members, outsiders join in and the quality reduces because it normifies and it ends up turning into a circlejerk and the original people leave elsewhere.
