Over the 3 years I wrote blog posts, every mistake basically boils down to two things:

1) Underestimating development time
2) Overestimating demand for blockchains

In both cases, I was more conservative than most - been accused of pessimism all the way, still am - but it was actually still too optimistic. Learning.

Both? Though it's probably 2) that's the overriding factor. If there's not enough demand for blockchains, then there isn't enough pressure for 1) if that makes sense

There's definitely far less activity now than I expected in 2021 - and it's not because of lack of scalability, it's entirely due to low demand

Which one of these 2 have you generally been more optimistic about?

is crypto for payments included? It’s not sexy, but lack of demand could just be lack of awareness/access.
