iI's wild to me that we live in a world where web2 people and web3 people can each write a thorough well-cited essay on the same topic and probably have zero cited sources in common.

What's also wild is how one will try as hard as possible to ignore the other, even when this is to the detriment of their own argument. That dynamic doesn't exist in the other direction, as far as I can tell.

I see a bit of it on our side too, but at least we don't (yet) excommunicate people who mention ideas from the other side. For example, there is definitely a default dismissal of things like atproto or sigstore, but there are good ideas to be learned from there too.
