Yeah. I'm hearing all these "we must scale the L1" takes but, like... is the demand actually coming?
I feel that the effort to scale the L1 should be commensurate with the effort spent making blockspace more valuable and in demand. Right now the ratio between these two efforts feels unbalanced at least 10-to-1.

Yeah, full agreement. I just worry we may be over-optimizing for an absurd amount of upcoming demand that never ends up manifesting. The L2s can absorb a lot of the blockspace demand that they couldn't in 2021, so the slack blockspace capacity is at all-time-high already.

right, one of the other reasons why L1 gas is so low is that a lot of the activity moved to L2s
