When Steve and I started orbiter.host, there were two things we wanted to focus on: 1. Playing in a validated market. 2. Using /pinata for all our IPFS needs. We did exactly those things even if point 1 means dealing with heavy competition. I think we have some nice advantages that will grow over time though.

Pudgy Penguins have ruined the Slack Giphy integration. I don't want to send a Pudgy Penguin GIF. Ever.

I could have said decentralization, but we already know that's not a real problem except in a tiny fraction of the population. It's definitely not a capitalism problem to be solved.

Account and data portability. When you can tie things to open protocols, you can remove walled gardens. And with the UX we have now, it can feel like the traditional web.

I'm still not sure it's a real problem, but portability can be solved now. The question is, do people care about vendor lock-in? For example, @stevedylandev.eth and I sell @orbiterhost to web2 and web3. Web3 is far more interested in it because of their inherent belief in decentralization.

If the NFT boom taught me anything, it's that an event featuring The Chainsmokers is a sure sign we've already peaked.

This is actually not funny. But still kinda hilarious the ice cream targeting. And pretty spot on analysis of the demographic

Was thinking about this while watching Night Agent on Netflix. They just gave the guy an old beater of a work van. But you can only do that so long

Yep. I can understand the productivity gains game dev companies are looking for with AI, but I also understand the need to maintain creative freedom independent of AI

Game developers are in a world caught between technology and creativity more so than other developers. https://aftermath.site/ai-video-game-development-art-vibe-coding-midjourney

There are so many great lines in this article, whether you agree with it or not. All I can imagine is the field day Mile Judge would have if he were making Silicon Valley today. https://www.theideasletter.org/essay/silicon-valleys-new-legislators/

I grew up with nothing but one-story houses. The house I currently own is the first two-story I’ve ever lived in and I still am not used to it nor do I like it 6 years later
