Thoughts on Deno’s push to get Oracle’s trademark of JavaScript cancelled? https://x.com/deno_land/status/1876728474666217739?s=46

i'm grateful Deno is taking a stand on behalf of devs. Oracle has been issuing C&D's to companies with JS in the name already

As far as I know (and I don’t know much), Oracle isn’t even actively using or promoting JavaScript. So I’m not sure how long their trademark claim can stay valid.

In the US lawyers will often just take their fees out of the settlement. If there are upfront costs, you can win them back in the settlement.

so you hsve to pay your lawyer upfront? what if you loose? do you always get a settlement if you get wrongly accused snd cleared of it or do u have to sue them bsck 😹😆 not worth the trouble for a personal entity to engage in legal war with an infinite funds for fighting back bug corp, they can ruin your finances and life, at best you’ll get a fine on them thats not even 1% of their net benefits
