This is exactly why I prefer IPFS over Arweave and other alternatives.

Feels the most transparent, even if it requires more coordination.

The concept of a protocol has historically meant passing data between parties in a new and novel way. Never has it meant using a monetary exchange to make this transfer possible

IPFS is one of my favourite protocols in this space for that reason

I think uniswap is another example of a true protocol. Maybe more web3 native and maybe slightly less pur because of the licensing stuff
