I'm building a WYSIWYG editor on top of markdown files on your local machine. It's offline-first and can be run entirely offline. 

When you paste an image into the editor, how do you expect that image to be referenced in your markdown?

* Store file locally with doc

That's kinda what I figured. Big challenge for my project is this editor is designed to sit on top of any static site content. So imagine you have a static site in Gatsby or Eleventy. Co-locating images can break the build references. 

Base64 encoded images bloat the file though.

I like how tools like Obsidian do this — colocate images and MD files in a folder and reference them like any other MD image ref
