idk, the implication here is that VC companies that aren't in crypto and follow traditional growth patterns are much more successful. But they almost all still fail

Oh absolutely. The implication I'm making is actually more that if you don't have quick liquidity, you're forced to focus on a product that gains wide adoption, which usually means a better product that is usable and valuable to those outside crypto's echo chamber.

I think that glosses over the fact that startups *should* target a small user base to start and prove the market before trying to attract outsiders. BUT I do see your point in that tokenomics can often be a quick and accessible eject button that is easier to press than if you go the trad route
