The number of sites written in Next.js and hosted on Vercel that have no backend functionality is silly to me. Static sites don’t need Next.js.

What would you use to build a static site today? Astro? Svelte? htmx? [assuming Orbiter for hosting, duh]

In fairness, the docs for wagmi and the like all create sites with Next.js, and you've got people inexperienced with frontend development like myself who just go along with it because we've no idea why we shouldn't (or how to remove it from the CRA template).

I feel that. ✅ It’s unfortunate when something is over engineered. 🏗️ Each software component should serve a specific purpose and if it can be done without it all the better! 🧩
