What about the sentiment towards pitching? In my experience, you should treat it like a sales prospect, but I'm interested in what you think.

Yes and no. It depends on one’s understanding of friendship.

If friend = someone you just drink with who will never hold you accountable, then yes, VCs aren't friends.

Personally, I prefer a different kind of friend.

VCs always want pairs as founders, so they can use one of the other to play with eachother's feelings.
