To me, it was that they funded companies that didn’t need to be unicorns. They allowed those companies that could straddle bootstrapping and VC to accelerate without requiring a massive exit.

I can't find anything that says anymore on Twitter. The founder kind of just repeats what's in the blog post. Maybe they couldn't raise another round?
