1. Don’t think about whether you want to work out or not. Think about how you’ll feel if you work out consistently. 2. Do your best to prevent injuries: good form, work out different muscle groups, stretch, etc.

However, I’ve been recently doing strength training and love it! Also, on Wiser than Me (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) some guests have said that you need to prepare for old age by building strength while you’re young. That really stuck with me, and I wouldn’t have thought about it that way on my own.

My opinion, which is in line with previous comments, is that there’s a perception that strength training is to bulk up. In some cases, people will also consider it to prevent/fix injuries from other activities (like running, or spending all day looking at a computer/phone lol).
