Politically, showing the public that the republicans couldn’t pass the CR with their majority would have been a boon for them before the election.

I think it would have been worth the risk for the Dems. But yes, it would have hurt the emoloyees and pissed off the normies.

Faith in our government institutions among Americans is so low that it threatens our democracy.   A government shut is not a failure of a party it’s a failure of congress.   Democrats and the speaker put country over party.   We need more of this.

A government shutdown would have likely hurt Harris.   So I definitely have a party bias too.

They did put party over country and we do need more of it. That being said, I think the momentary harm occurred would have been worth it if it would have resulted in the Dems winning Congress.
