First, congratulations to everyone who got PB. And thanks to you and the many other PB users who have extended a warm helping hand to non-PB users. I would then like to discuss a point that I found curious in the data. More than a quarter of the new PB users, indeed, have never cast in the past two weeks. This means that the PB grant is not done by an openrank-based algorithm, but rather arbitrarily by the management team. If there are users who are arbitrarily granted PBs, it is natural to assume that there are users who are arbitrarily excluded from PBs. It is rumored in our Japanese community that users who are flagged as "shadowban" will never get a PB again. What do people think about this kind of centralization?

There are no shadow bans anymore. But there are brand accounts and people who work for crypto companies who are being given power badges because they are official accounts. I would exclude them from any analysis. The major problem is most Power Badge users mainly speak English and you need them to engage with your content for the algorithm to see you. We need more Japanese native speakers to get badges so they can lift up others.

Based on what I've seen, PB is split into two types: an allowlist and AI judgement. There isn't really a true shadowban with the AI side of things. If someone interacts normally for long enough, even people who were previously marked as spam and lost their badges can still earn PB. That's exactly what happened to my friend, @0xmaru.eth
