older gens worry about young people not working at mcdonalds maybe the real worry is getting too plugged in to the attention economy too early...too much work? probably going to be great for some people, disastrous for others as someone who did 10 years in bigco institutions, I probably overvalue that experience a little but I do have a strong prior thinking that sort of "Stable" work experience can be valuable but the "entry level" jobs at the margin now are in the creator economy what does this all mean, have no idea i have ten more years to get grumpy about it!

what value do you ascribe to the "stable" work experience?

in a world run by large institutions, its sort of an understanding of how most projects get done, the success and failure modes of team based projects, understand psychology and politics in a large organization and how that can go awry and then just ability to interface with those institutions, participate in an economy as an adult to meet needs for my family now

i can see that also wonder if there’s a cultural shift that occurs as a result of so many value bringing creators coming up without the corporate cultural influence on their way of operating psychology and politics of communities definitely worth studying - can imagine outcomes that are positive for the non-indoctrinated as well as negatives/retelling of already made mistakes

for sure there will be ive met many creators that have crushed it without the institutional background - but tend to generally just be high intelligence / synthesizers - much harder to bootstrap these skills for the median person generally younger generations have always befuddled older gens - so my default is being slightly skeptical of what i think young people should be doing

can also imagine worlds where communication and negotiations take place between AI agents or something the median person could also be more quickly pushed into refining social skill and personal-development as a result of other areas of life being automated or one-prompted via assistant agents idk tho - also unsure about future things
