we have a several friends at TSMC in hsinchu and it’s pretty similar culturally to other Taiwan companies but ramped up commitment at all costs scripts

People have this line of “but pay is better so you have to sacrifice more”.  But even regular companies highly regulate time off. It’s pretty intense.

Think I’m going to do a TSMC culture / taiwanese work culture deep dive sometime this year. 

You can only go Taiwanese to American work culture. It is not backward compatible.
