A rather funny case happened with the Chinese company BYD, which bought a huge number of advertising slots at Euro 2024 to play its promo at every match: the brand forgot to make a German domain for its landing page, so when curious Germans typed the query BYD into search engines, they came across the site of "Buy Your Dildo" - a German sex shop of the same name. Apparently, there were so many hits that the store even had to write on their homepage that they are not sponsored by Euro and leave a link to the real BYD website 😂
