100% the truth, and it almost doesn't matter how much experience you have if it wasn't exactly with the same tech stack and with industry knowledge (and even then, odds are you get caught in the AI filters and tossed). There is almost 0 point in applying to job postings anymore as you'll never hear back if you don't have a referral. Granted, my resume probably aucks even tho I've reworked it with some help a few times, but I've applied to probably about 1000+ nodejs or python roles in the past 8 months (which I have long experience with both), for maybe 10 interviews, so the first interview rate is 1%, meaning it's a huge hail Mary to put time into applying, especially on LinkedIn. Time is maybe better spent brown-nosing for a referral.

Yes. I've applied to probably 100 web3 jobs on LI. I have four years experience writing for everything from NFT collections, DeFi protocols and blockchain games - with the references to back it up, and can't even get a call. So many 'phantom' jobs there.
