Olena had a long background as a portrait photographer but became interested in AI art following a period of immobility caused by surgery. During this time, she had the opportunity to learn about AI technology, which piqued her interest and inspired her to try her hand at creating art with these cutting-edge tools. Since then, she has been creating figurative art that combines modernism, surrealism, and symbolism: ‘The process of transitioning from traditional photography to AI art has been both challenging and rewarding. While I miss the tactile experience of working with a camera, I have found that the endless possibilities of AI art have opened up new avenues for creative expression’

Speakingtomato explores themes of identity, memory, and the passage of time. She can investigate the human experience in great detail and produce art that is both incredibly personal and eminently relevant because of these ideas. She does, however, frequently take inspiration from a wide range of other sources, such as her own life experiences, historical and cultural developments, and other artistic creations. ‘As an AI artist, I wholeheartedly believe in the power and potential of AI-generated art. It’s incredible to think that I am contributing to the development of this emerging field and shaping the future of art history.' (Olena ST)
