I really feel we are worse off as a society for the way we lack these trains as regular people these days in regular life.. just saying.. if I had one of these to tool around the outside of my house with I would not be so bummed that we live in a future w no jet packs yet.

I heard Walt was pretty depressed during the time the first Disneyland was being created. Him driving the train, that encircles the park, was one of the few things that was bringing him joy. __ (source: an anecdote from Cory Doctorow, a ways back, "somewhere")

(I think he was getting a lot of shit from the Anaheim city council) ...but boy! It what an incredible project. Apparently city planners from all around America came to study it, and they were innovating on sorts of firsts (like the parking, the way cars came in and out of the park as a system).
