Bad Mormon art in primary school (Sunday school) is the reason I started questioning god at 8 years old. It’s a whole other kind of ridiculous. May the force be with you.

Do you think? I think it’s terrible but maybe that’s just religious trauma and the stories they were trying to sell w the art. I was long gone before I ever saw a Black or Brown person depicted in Mormon art.

That’s where the kitsch-ness kicks in for me. But I don’t have any shadow charge on those particular images. So I hear ya! That stuff runs deep🫀 Also I loved the Neil Postman idea of “image drain” in relation to Jesus images, when the printing press came in.
