To align with how drops work on @rodeodotclub, I wanted to share more about Gestaltung and why I’m excited to share some handpicked iterations on the platform. tl;dr: exploring color through minimalist, shape-based compositions. Gestaltung broadly represents design, form, or composition - the process of arranging components in a meaningful, and aesthetically compelling way. It closely aligns with the principles of gestalt psychology - the perception of the whole over its parts. The series is built around two basic shapes: a quarter circle and a rectangle. With these, I’ve aimed to create compositions that feel balanced and deliberate, yet carry a sense of suspension. At its core, Gestaltung is an exploration of color as the primary variable, keeping the form nearly constant. Each palette includes just two works. This ties into my ongoing broader exploration of how color palettes have been visually represented over time. I’ll share more with the drops—for anyone curious enough to follow along. :)
