Question: do we really need message history for all digital communications? It seems like the default for most chat/comms apps (with the exception of FC DCs). IRL interactions often have no history or record except what we remember

A lil' fun story: The first time I DM'd you on TG, I didn't know you have chat expiry on. When the chat disappeared, I was like "Oh my god, did he delete the chat on purpose? What did I do wrong?" (TG didn't notify me that it was auto-deleted.)
