So the secret to generational wealth is finding old books and copying what’s in them. 🤔 I wish I’d known that 10 years ago.

Let's be honest, we're extremely "kind" to people using stuff like p5's noise() function, or other algorithms they barely understand. Dmitri actually understood what he was doing and let's also not diminish the work of turning a graphic design study into long form genart.

Plus, similar to Truchet tiling, Armin Hofman wasn't the only one who independently came up with this system. I honestly think people are making a way bigger deal about Ringers _because_ it was successful (as a long form project, not a gfx design study), than other "inspired" algorithms.

I do agree on the noise thing. So tired of seeing stuff that’s just noise fields with colour (I made a few myself, but only to learn how to implement fBM properly—not minting those “studies”).
