When I used to search for 'Socrates' on WeChat, the most frequent results were conversations with a member of the Protector, a governance research team. Now, as I read The Apology of Socrates, I suddenly grasp the full meaning of what they said about the legitimacy of our involvement in governance, how to view the repercussions of engaging in Socratic questioning, and how to converse with public opinion. I always seem to realize things too late and constantly feel overwhelmed by my own ignorance.
