After going to a few college hackathons recently it is clear that no one has caught really technical students’ attention quite as much as @sreeramkannan and Eigenlayer; I haven’t seen as many crazy but impassioned ideas for infra since DeFi summer

If Eigenlayer “marketizes” advanced cryptography (e.g. FHE, proving networks, witness encryption, IBE, etc.) because it has a way of being economic at day 1, that might be the Uniswap moment (“I can launch my asset whenever I want”) for this type of stuff

In many ways, this is the most exciting contest to me because it should hopefully get funding / interest to esoteric areas that just needed more investment (a la ZK in 2017)

Some of the AVS ideas I’ve seen have been for things that seemed like “really cool theoretical CS idea but who wants to buy it?” which is very similar to the early days of DeFi (but replace TCS with quant finance)
