Why would I use a PWA on desktop when I can just use a browser?
I guess it's easier for devs to maintain and probably more performant than an Electron app but since the UI is the same, I don't really understand the appeal.

I agree. I just try to not go on social networks too much, so making it difficult to access in my browser is best haha.

why would I scroll through my 100 tabs over 5 windows, if I can click one icon in the dock

The less notification, the better.
It also shows up in the browser.

People really like switching between apps

1) I don't allow browser notifications, if I want notifications I use an app
2) I like to know where it is on my Dock instead of it being lost in a sea of tabs
