Our target inflation is supposed to be 2%. US CPI is 3.3% YoY, 3.4% was expected. Only a 0.1 % difference and yet people are already talking about a rate cut and market rallied... How does this make any sense?

CPI is a lagging indicator, so presumably we need to trigger a cut *before* posting 2%? Assuming the trend toward lower inflation is clear enough
