as someone coming from the traditional art world into web3, i see both spaces have their contradictions. as you said, the art world seems to resist change and thrives on reinventing an already established, successful formula.
while web3 embraces disruption but also repeats the patterns of exclusivity, speculation etc.
(insert ‘same same but different’ meme here).
regardless of mediums, platforms, speculations, remixes, traditional or web3, you will always find people creating regardless of these patterns and new aesthetics will be shaped along the way. almost as a by product of these individuals “creating for the sake of creating/growing/exploring/playing”.
everything is art, yet nothing is art. we don’t really know where to stand but we have the urge to create, make, shape.
