Can someone explain to me why /rodeo-club is popular now?

Zora pulled the rug on artists. 

Artists didn’t like that. 

Rodeo came out about the same time. Artists didn’t love the price structure, but at least it was transparent and simple. 

It’s fun to collect great art for a great price. Lots of artists decided to give it a go. It’s fun and social.  More people hopped in. Then secondary came and people realized maybe the 24 hour limited thing has legs. 

Collecting is fun again. Artists are making money. Maybe this meta can work.

I really do love the feed! I’m seeing artists I wouldn’t normally come across and it’s been eye opening of how many great folks are hiding out there!

Thanks Pichi. The biggest thing it solves for is discovery.

It’s the best model for digital art in existence right now and it’s built on top of the Farcaster social graph.  The reward system is fascinating.  50 25 25 (50% to creator, 25% to Rodeo, 25% to referrer).  It gets very interesting at scale.  The digital art market, which at scale has always been on X, is now taking notice.  At the core, the product has always been about the art so you have a true core of the art community.  It’s like taking the best of Tezos (the art), the social scale of X, and then the tech and rails of Farcaster, shaking it up, and what you get is, Rodeo…. For context, I’d never minted my own work until yesterday and decided to do it for the first time yesterday on Rodeo.  It was a huge deal to me.

Zora used to let us set prices and the number of mints. And one day they turned that off with zero explanation and many of us were in the middle of releasing collections. They then ignored our questions publicly. It was awful.
