The Unwritten Rules of Farcaster: Cast A Lot* When the Warpcast team says: Cast a lot* to be successful and be eligible for airdrops and rewards, thatโs a huge oversimplification. Thereโs a BIG asterisk in there thatโs invisible, but important understand. You need to cast things that are going to get engagement. Casting for castings sake isnโt going to work out in your favor. 75-80% of casts on Farcaster get zero engagement. That means no likes, no comments, and no recasts. This is bad.

Great thread as usual @pichi. One thing that I noticed recently is that top (and quote) casting seems to be valued more algorithmically than replies. Not that commenting is bad, just not given the same points as the others at the moment.

Many people feel the same. Iโm seeing a lot more quote casting over replying. I think if you add to the conversation, itโs not necessarily a bad thing!

Me neither, but in reality the algorithm doesnโt know what is being added to the conversation, it just rewards certain behaviour and demotes others

Occasionally, my replies to other peopleโs cast do really really well because I think they show up under their cast in the home feed, but I havenโt seen that as much lately.

You're very observant and understand this place better than most, Pichi. If you're not seeing it, then to me it signifies how the recent algorithm is working. It will always be a wack-a-mole game where when enough people/bots catch on to whats working it will be prompted to change in an attempt to balance things out and influence new behaviour. High active and follower accounts will usually be able to stay above this and weather these changes, where new accounts will find it more challenging.
