Kicking Ass on Farcaster: The TOTO Way 🚽 🧵

I’ve laughed at the cock meta. We all have. But it’s time to flush that away and focus on what really matters: kicking ass on Farcaster.

Farcaster is like a high-tech Japanese toilet—it’s sleek, sophisticated, and designed to free us from the toxic wasteland that is Web 2 social. The team is literally trying to put money in your pocket through Warpcast Rewards and project Airdrops. But if your content stinks, you’re getting left behind.

Embrace the way of the TOTO 🚽

Don’t talk shit: Be constructive, not an asshole
Don’t follow shit: Curate your feed—your timeline is your responsibility
Make your own shit: Original content wins
Change your shit if it’s not working: Adapt, experiment
Don’t reply with shit: Low-effort comments fail 
Don’t know shit? Read the instructions: Farcaster has a culture—learn it
Clean up your shit: Your profile is your resume. Keep it spotless
Don’t post shit: Quality > Quantity

In the 1960s, Japan switched to Western-style seated toilets, but people had no clue how to use them—so they put instruction labels on the toilets (PS these signs still exist today in most public toilets).

Farcaster is the same way. It might look like other social media, but it works differently. You wouldn’t assume you know how to operate a high-tech bidet without instructions—so don’t assume you know how to “win” on Farcaster without observing and learning first.

Luckily, you don’t have to figure it out alone. There are resources like @gmfarcaster  , @gmfc101  /farcasterunion and /welcome Use them.  Ask for help. Leverage the kind people here. And once you get it, pay it forward. Don’t know shit? Read the instructions.

For instance, our Farcaster 101 series is a great starting point.
